Here's my favourite site: The Imp Page
The best Sunbeam pages on the Net - bar none - are
Russell Maddock's Sunbeam pages.
Lots of Imps! :)
Fellow Imp enthusiasts will be interested in this picture by
David Shepherd, famous african
wildlife artist, of an Imp
competing in the East African Safari Rally. David Shepherd painted mechanical subjects
before turning to wildlife and was the author of the famous 4.5 Blower Bentley "Racing the
Train" picture.
Here is my Sunbeam Sport in its finest hour. It was taken at
Cars in the Park in Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa about 1985.
In 1997 I bought four Imps that I found on the Internet. Here is
the story of that visit as told in an article for the Hillman Owners Club Newsletter. There's pictures of the safari here too, and the cars as thay are today - the GT and the Mark I
The GT got itself fettled up with a proper Sport head from the infamous Tim Morgan and a very loud stainless exhaust. A couple of stainless oil cooler hoses and lots of minor work got it quite presentable and heaps of fun to drive. It made the cover of the club magazine IMPressions when it ws the official car for the groom's party at Russ Maddock's wedding.

My new toy to
console myself when the kids left home! :)) 013 GYA - it was one of the
last three SP turbo MX5's left in the country. They are a lcoally fitted,
factory approved turbo in a limited edition special run known as the SP and
come with full Mazda factory warranty. They take the MX5, which is a wonderful
car to start with, and give it enough poke to keep in front of WRX STi's on
the track. Don't ask me how I know! ;) Here
are a few examples of the car at the Safe Drive Australia
Performance Driving day. You'll need Quicktime to view the movies.
