Imp Competing in East African Safari Rally

This picture has always been special to me. A confirmed Imp nut, I am also a David Shepherd fan, having lived in Kenya for a couple of years as a boy. I was a marshal on the '68 Safari - one of the years that the wet came early and only 8 cars finished. That's happened twice, and both times a Peugeot 404 won. It was a schoolboy's dream to meet Pat Moss in the flesh, an impression that lasted after I met her socially at the Aylesbury Motor Club many years later.
